Why Berkeley County Record Paths Differ
Public records do not all come from one office or one search screen. In Berkeley County, a booking at Hill-Finklea Detention Center, a Goose Creek police report, and a court disposition are separate records made for separate purposes. The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office uses Citizen Connect for current confinement and bounded admission or release searches. Its Daily Report has a same-day Bookings filter. The South Carolina Department of Corrections locator serves a different population, people currently sentenced to and incarcerated in state prison. Court records answer what happened after a charge was filed.
That division is the reason this reference exists. It gathers the documented official source paths, explains what each one can and cannot answer, and notes the limits of a current roster, a city report, or a news item. A booking image can be available through an official result when the county makes it available, but no public BCSO rule promises a photo for every entry. No booking-photo gallery is hosted here.
