Berkeley County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or pull official booking or court records. Contact the government office that holds the record or controls the custody decision.

Official Berkeley County Record Contacts

Different offices control different records. The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and its Records Management Office handle sheriff records, while Hill-Finklea staff handle county detention questions and the County Legal/FOIA office receives county public-record requests. A court case result comes from the Judicial Branch, not a jail roster. Start with the route that matches the record sought.

Use the official source that fits the question. A detention record can describe a custody event, but it does not decide a criminal case. A public court file may take time to appear and may be unavailable when sealed or confidential.

  • For a current county detainee or a recent Hill-Finklea admission or release, begin with the official BCSO Inmate Lookup and its Citizen Connect search. An absence is not proof of release or a case outcome.
  • For a same-calendar-day booking question, use the official Citizen Connect Daily Report with its Bookings filter. The filter is not a historical arrest-log archive.
  • For a county-held booking record, an available booking photograph, or a record older than the portal window, contact Detention Records and use the Berkeley County FOIA portal for the required request route.
  • For an incident report created by sheriff deputies, use the BCSO Records Management Office. For a municipal event, contact the city police department that created the record.
  • For a case disposition, use the Berkeley County trial-court Public Index or contact the Clerk of Court at (843) 719-4400. Confirm the county and case type before relying on a name match.
  • For a person currently sentenced to state prison, use the South Carolina Department of Corrections inmate search. It is not a county-jail locator and does not cover released people or county detainees.
  • For status notifications, use SC VINE when its participating-system coverage fits the question. For federal or immigration custody, use the official BOP Inmate Locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator, not the county jail search.
